Bartering Online

What do ionic hairdryers, handmade soaps, children’s books, candles, gourmet coffee, oil changes, lawn services, graphics work, promotion, tax services, advertising and business cards have in common? These are just a FEW of the many items I’ve received in exchange for my products or services!

I’ve been doing business online since 1997. In the last 5 years I’ve done business with thousands of people from all over the world - people I will never meet face to face, yet many of whom I consider friends.

It still amazes me how the Internet can bring people together that would have never met otherwise. I have struck up many deals with people I’ve met online. We’ve traded ideas, traffic, products, services and more. Many of these people are now not only my business associates, they are also now my friends.

Some of these ventures have made me a lot of money, some only a little and some none at all. In most instances though, even the ones that went nowhere to begin with ended up fostering a relationship that paid off in other ways.

Don’t be afraid to ask someone if they are willing to make a trade. Worst case scenario is that they may say “No”. Best case scenario is you they may say “Yes” and you may get what you want without having to spend any money.

Just make sure that when you make an offer that it’s a valid offer that they may actually be interested in. I’ve had many offers from people offering - for instance - an information product with resell rights that’s been around for years or even worse, a product I’m already selling! Do some research on the person and their web site’s products and services BEFORE you approach them.

Don’t ever send the same message to a bunch of people at one time. Personalize your email. If someone makes me an offer that is written like it is being offered only to me and I see they are sending it to other people, I delete it and move on. If I’m not worth you taking the time to write a personal email, then you’re not worth my time in responding.

For those of you that may have people offer to barter with you for your products and services. Keep an open mind and don’t be afraid to say “Yes”. I don’t accept every offer that is made, but like I said, I’ve made some good deals and built some great relationships because of them.

Now, get out there and start making some deals!

Make Money With Affiliate Programs

Affiliate programs represent a trememdous earning opportunity, there are thousands of products available to resell and many will pay you up to 50% commission on each sale.

Such a product can make for an ideal back end sale to your own customer list if you don’t have one of your own to offer, however many Internet Entrepreneuers make a very good living purely off promoting other companies products.

So, how can YOU take advantage of the situation and earn an above average income - without exposing yourself to all the risks that developing and marketing your own product entails?

Easy to say - not so easy to do. Successful affiliate marketing requires a slightly different angle than marketing a product of your own. For starters you have little or no control over the product or the sales process and absolutely zero involvement in cementing the sale and ensuring you have a happy camper.

When a customer buys something he needs to be left with a sense of satisfaction and a feeling that the purchase will solve a problem or allow him to perform an action he was previously unable to do (as in the case of a tool or software or some such like).

To be sure of creating that ideal state of mind in your customer, you - as the marketer recommending the product - need to know the product inside out (and preferably to own or have used it yourself). This is neccessary, not only to ascertain the quality of the product but also to enable you to target the customer accurately.

Sell a top notch product to the wrong person and you’re just gonna incur a chargeback - pretty much a waste of time.

Here’s how important this really is.Each issue I write a product review for my ezine subscribers. For a recent issue I bought a newly released ebook on affiliate marketing, it had an affiliate program attached and the sales letter suggested it would be good material for my readers. However when I read the book it turned out it was intended for complete newbies with very little or no Internet experience.

Now most subscribers to that list are quite web savvy, some of them are webmasters with their own sites to run - imagine the reaction if any of them had bought that book on my recommendation. It’s that important - know your product!

So - that said, lets pull apart a typical affiliate sale and see what happens………..

“MY BACK WAS KILLING ME TILL I DISCOVERED THIS MIRACLE CURE” by Stan Dupstraight

Stan Dupstraight has just written an ebook on the importance of correct posture to good health, he arrives at my site and sees my recommendation for Armand Morin’s Ebook Generator. www.goldenpathway.net/armand.html Whoa! - Stan needs an ebook compiler for his new work. He clicks the link, likes what Armand has to say in his sales letter and buys the standard version.

Can you see what happened here?

I use Ebook Generator myself and am more than happy with both the product and the service I receive as a customer. In an almost mystical way it has shown through in my writing because I have confidence in both the product and it’s creator.

That confidence is transferred to Stan Dupstraight and he becomes a customer also.

There’s something almost magical going on here - on a mental level - that cannot be falsified. It’s a transference of feeling from one human being to another that - by it’s very nature - has to be genuine, the human mind recognizes that truth on an unconscious, instinctive level.

In this situation you’re creating what any good salesman loves to get his hands on - a referal. Your customer arrives at the sales page full of confidence wanting to learn more about it.

Now consider the mood of someone who just clicked on a banner - he expects he’s going to hit a sales pitch - in fact, he just knows he’s gonna be pitched - what does he do? He just bookmarks the page and carries on with his research.

Six months later he finally buys his ebook compiler from a recommendation in an ezine he read - not from your banner.

There’s a big difference between those two scenerios and - as always - it’s the one that was the hardest to implement that made the money.

This is the major reason why only a small percentage of affiliates on the net actually make any money. Dare to be different, choose your subject, get your creative juices going and then just begin to write.

Build a small site around your subject and refer people to related products that you know to be good. Write an ebook on the subject and include your affiliate links in that. Submit an article to the ezine directories with your link, just do whatever it takes to drive traffic through your link.

You may find it hard work in the beginning but once you get into the flow it will become easier and you may even become recognised as an expert in your field. You’ll learn loads of stuff about the Internet and the way it works and probably discover things about yourself at the same time.

Do things differently - do things that are difficult to do - do things that others can’t be bothered doing and you’ll make good money with affiliate programs.

Startpage Programs

The last couple of months there is an explosion of the so called ‘startpage programs‘.

What purpose do those programs have ? How do they work ? Will it take a lot of my time? Do they really generate traffic to my site ?

I will try to answer all those questions.

The purpose?
The programs give you a lot of traffic, they give you visitors to your site. That is the only purpose.

How do they work?
You have to join / sign up their program.

Normally you will get an email with a lot of information :

* username / password
* about their members area
* your OWN startpage link
* YOUR referral link(s)
* …

The startpage link is the MOST important url you need. You have to put this url in your ‘homepage url’, so when you launch your browser you will view a site. The content of the given site will depend if the program allows you to indicate your interests (target).

The referral link gives you the ability to let people join the program via your OWN link. Benefits? Mostly of the time you will get extra credits or higher ratio of getting more credits.

How do you get your credits? Every time you open your browser (or every reload!) you will be able to view a site, for doing this you will get a credit in your account. There are some programs which automatically give you the next site to view! Getting credits depends of different factors :

You need to visit the giving site xxx seconds, there is a maximum of getting credits each day, their ratio 2:1, 3:2 (like bannerprograms) and so on…

For every credit you have in your account you will get a visitor to your site(s), sometimes it is targeted (their interests). You can also buy credits or win them!

Those programs don’t need a lot of time to use, you need to configure your account and to use your browser and visit the sites that your are interested in!

Conclusions ? You should use one program to get visitors to your site, BUT there are some rules you have to check first :

* are your visitors TARGETED ?
* not automatically refreshed ?
* site available/reachable every day ?
* existence of system against abuse ?
* detecting programs that do automatically refreshes ?
* is there a maximum on similar sites ?
* able to indicate errors ?
* able to change your information ?
* inactive accounts don’t get visitors ? (1 week)
* existence of a big FAQ ?
* do they have banners ?

If your answers to the above questions are always YES, then you find the BEST startpage program on the net. But I have to disappoint you, I have tried already different startpage programs, I didn’t find it yet. So, do I use a startpage program? Yes, I do. I made my own startpage program, I made very severe rules, all the answers on the above questions should be YES!

Financially Secure The Rest Of Your Life

So………You want to make money online ? Well……What is the best and easiest way to make a good living online, I hear you ask.

Firstly, before I reveal the best and easiest way to make a lucrative living online, I want to tell you the major reason why people don’t get started with an Internet Businesss. The major reason most people don’t get started is simply the fear of the unknown.

They don’t know whether this will succeed……. They don’t know whether their ideas are good. They also suffer from Information Overload. I know, i have been there to………..

You need a path to follow, and you need to keep to that same path until you come out the other end…..

How would you like to generate Unlimited Product Ideas every day, for the rest of your life ?

I have personally studied the ways that the Top Internet Marketing Guru’s make their lucrative online income…… The likes of Terry Dean from the internet marketing web site Netbreakthroughs.com, Yanik Silver from Instantsalesletters and Joe Vitale from Mrfire.com.They earn six figure incomes from their online businesses………

What do they all have in common ?

Repeat after me…….

” They all produce their own products from their own unique angle ”

Here are some small tips for developing unique product ideas. Whenever you are idea generating for new products, you should always have these three elements present.

1. It should be something that people want, and not what they need.
2. You should sell to the people that have the money to purchase.
3. It should be a specific product for a specific market, and not general.

As soon as you have these three elements, you are on the right track. Quit buying and developing products, and then trying to sell them. First, find your customers, then develop a product for them.Find a model of success, and follow it. Terry Dean and Yanik Silver are just two examples of successful Internet Entrepreneur’s, who have become very successful, developing their own products…………

Here is a comment about my friend Terry Dean

” Thank you so much for the information you share in your newsletter, in your products and on your site. You might like to know that, using some of the things you teach, I’ve secured $60,489.00 over a 6 month period! What you teach works - BIG TIME” Mickey Wong, owner of Easy4all Internet Solutions”

There are way too many self confessed experts. Follow the expert’s who have already laid a path for you.

Believe me, when I say to you, you can produce your own successful selling product in 10 days or less, if you have a step by step guide to follow…………

For instance, nobody is born with the gift of writing effective salesletter’s. Even the like’s of Terry Dean, who write flowing and compelling ad copy, had to learn how to do it to…….You to, can easily write ad copy that sells by just following specific rules of writing to sell…

For instance…….Copywriting is probably the hardest thing we do, because it is so time intensive, and to be honest it is not that much fun either. The majority of copywriters use the same system to write successful salesletters.. It’s called simply, cut and paste and edit….cut, paste and edit

Not very inspirational I know, but this is what they do. They search out direct competitors, look at their ad copy and how they add in bonuses etc, and see how they can improve on the way they present their product…

They don’t copy, this would be copyright infringement, but they study, and improve on successful selling competitors. They also have a swipe file of successful headlines that they can change to meet the needs of whatever product they are selling…

Follow these basic principles of copyrighting and success should be just around the corner……

Hey….and you thought they were genuises!

My closing thought’s for you are these……

To make a great income online, is not hard, and is very achievable for anybody. Yes, that’s right “Anybody” You just need to use the right techniques, and follow the experts who have been there and done it, and lived to tell the tale.

I sincerely hope you have enjoyed this article, and remember this. All the successful steps to achieving online success are within anybody’s reach, you just need the simple steps and the role models to follow……

Turn Marketing Into An Art Form

If you don’t have time to read this whole article, here’s what it says… Since everyone is using the same tools to market their products (like opt-in lists and search engines), nobody has a real way to rise above the rest of the competition and make the amount of money they want to be making. In order to be a successful Internet Marketer, you will have to stop using the same tools as everyone else and turn marketing into an art form.

Let’s face it. Internet marketing has changed dramatically over the past few years.

First there was the “dot com revolution.” Anyone who had an idea could have money. What a beautiful concept.

Too bad it was bound to fail. Why? The reason is quite simple. Anyone who was in the Silicon Valley during the revolution could see it with their plain eyes. The “dot-commers” set up huge offices with massive amounts of employees before they even made a SINGLE PROFIT!

So the dot com revolution fizzled, and left us with a new wave of Internet Marketers. We know better than that. We work from our homes, our offices, and our bedrooms. We give the appearance of being big, when in fact, we really aren’t.

This definately solves the “dot-com” problem.

But there’s another problem, and we all know this. Because we’re all just regular people, working from our regular homes, there’s an awful lot of us!

When you think about it, this poses a problem. If there are so many of us, promoting e-zines, e-books, e-products, and the like, how are we to rise above the rest?.

How can you be BETTER than the rest of the competition, when everyone is using the SAME EXACT WEAPONS? Opt-in lists. Search engines. I don’t need to list our weapons. We all know them all to well.

What most people fail to realize is that marketing is not a use of tools, but an ARTFORM. Let me give you an example. Please note that normally I would never give out an idea as novel as this for free, but I want you to get a taste of what’s really out there.

I recently wrote a web site teaching people how to be successful with online personals systems (you can see the web site here). I knew that by using the same old techniques as everyone else (build an opt in list, submit to the search engines, and wait), I’d never make the money with this site that I wanted to.

So, I used an idea instead of a tool. If you haven’t heard of the web site where you can view your driver’s license online, click here to check it out. I didn’t invent this joke, but let me tell you how I used it to market my site.

A joke like this spreads like like wildfire. Everyone wants to tell ALL of their friends. With just a little opt-in and search engine use, I was able to make this site get more hits than you could EVER imagine! But that’s not what I care about. I care about that little red link on the bottom of the page…advertising MY site!

This is just an example of how marketing can be an artform.

Digital Camera View Panels

In framing a shot, the only image you need to see displayed on the LCD view panel on the back of your camera is a full-screen look through the lens. For the review of photos you’ve previously captured, however, most digital cameras offer additional modes. Some of these include single-image mode, multiple-image mode, slideshow mode, and zoom mode.

Single Image

In single-image mode, that’s all you see—a one-shot view. Most cameras will let you step through all the images you’ve exposed so that you can look at them one at a time. Although you can’t compare shots (except in your mind), you will see the greatest possible level of detail. Single-image mode is the basic viewing mode for digital cameras in review mode, and usually the only preview view.

Multiple Image

In multiple-image mode—sometimes called thumbnail mode—your camera breaks its viewfinder into a matrix of individual images, typically an array of four or nine. Although each image is a fraction of its individual size (say one-quarter or one-ninth), this mode allows you to make side-by-side comparisons. You can pick out an image to keep or trash in one quick glance. This mode is particularly useful when you urgently need more memory and want to eliminate wasted shots to gain memory space.

Slideshow

Long before we had home videos to bore our friends and neighbors through wintry evenings, God gave us the slideshow. You’d drag out a rolled-up screen that never properly unrolled, plug in the projector, and flash side after slide, one at a time, on the screen. The slideshow mode of a digital camera’s electronic viewfinder operates similarly, a one-after-another display of the images in its memory. This mode allows you to briefly view all the photos you’ve captured before deciding to chuck them all and start over.

The slideshow lets you assess the mass of your work in full detail. At that, it can be quite useful in making a quick evaluation of your technical prowess. As with the presentation of single images, it does not allow you to make quick comparisons.

Zoom

The small screen and low pixel count in digital camera LCD displays can make checking image details difficult. Consequently, many cameras incorporate an electronic zoom mode in their viewfinder systems. Typically this mode will let the LCD panel display one pixel for each pixel in the captured image, which magnifies the image by a factor of two to four. Although you cannot see the entire image at one time, you can usually pan across its width and height to check each pixel. If you’re critical about the images you take, you’ll want zoom mode. For ordinary snapshots, however, you may find it unnecessary and may not miss the feature in a camera that lacks it.

If you plan only to use your LCD panel to review images, you don’t much care about where it is on your camera. You can just tilt the camera to the viewing angle you prefer. If, however, you want to use the panel as a viewfinder, the mounting of the LCD is decidedly important. It must be located so you can view it conveniently while pointing the camera lens at your subject. Not all digital cameras have LCD panels that let you do this conveniently.

Adjustable panels allow you to swivel the LCD to whatever position is most comfortable for you to view it. In particular, you can tilt it upward so that it functions as a waist-level viewfinder, which many professional photographers prefer, particularly for portrait photography.
